Maureen & Andrew's Wedding

Maureen & Andrew were married at the wonderful location of Fairbridge, just out of Pinjarra. The weather was terrific - not too hot, with a gentle breeze.
Fairbridge has many lovely spots to grab some pics and the chapel, whilst difficult for lighting, is quaint and perfect for a marriage.
Maureen & Andrew looked a picture and were a lovely, happy couple.
We wish you all the best

Trip to Sydney was terrific - Thanks to Nikon Australia.
Nikon are developing their courses to include Adelaide and Perth. In doing this they flew myself and two to attend a course being conducted in the Marriot-Sydney.
There were 21 in the course and it was a great way to see how they manage and run the course. Will be teaching in Perth starting in February 2011.
Couple of pics...

Had the pleasure (and responsibility) of photographing the Ship's Company of HMAS ARUNTA. Still having a Navy ID helps!
Shot manually above the flight deck of the ship... Enclosed the original and then the 'updated' file. Had to 'close' the hatch (got rid of it) and remove the gangway, add text and remove a few other 'bits'!!
Shot around 15 images to get the one! While there also grabbed a few other shots!

Another fantastic Wedding on a beautiful WA Spring Day (albeit a BIT windy!!)
Kylie & Stuart were married in Fremantle and used the beautiful back-drops of the town and sunset followed by a relaxing evening with friends and family at Salt in North Freo.
Great couple, they were wonderful to work with.
Have a great time in Bali - see you when you get back!

Borden Visit

At 12pm on Wednesday we shut shop and Jacob, Kelly, Billy, Chrispy and KJ headed down to the very small (but big hearted locals) town of Borden.
Borden is the closest town to the Stirling Ranges (45 kms), and is primarily a agricultural town with the ability to store large amounts of grain when reaping commence.
PhotoCoffee were involved in teaching an Intro to Digital (KJ with a bit of help from Billy), and Photoshop (Jacob) on the Thurs & Fri, with some Family photos on Fri morning (5:30 am!!) and evening.
Then we were involved the WAPF weekend. This included a short (3.4km!!!) walk / climb up Bluff Knoll - WA's highest peak at 1073. KJ, Jacob, Billy & Sam (Camera Electronic) and William managed the 3.4 km hike - very worth it!!

Day 9 - Final Run Home - Fowlers Bay to Dark (Madura Pass)

Doing this blog in the car just after Norseman at 11.10 pm.
Sat-Nav says we have 780kms to run, bringing us home at 7:30(ish) in the morning.
Travelled over 7500 km's in less than 10 days has been very testing on the drivers and put too much pressure on 'getting there' rather than enjoying the time and grabbing photos. The troops have been very tolerant of me!!
The cars (two Subaru Outbacks) have simply not missed a beat and our economy has averaged around 9.5 liters per 100kms (both 3.0 liters).
Straight back to work tomorrow - much to do!!!
Just got to get through this last run without seeing any Roos!!

Woke this morning to a wet and soggy Fowlers Bay - rained most of the night. This pic taken at 7:30 am. Our accommodation was a large with a million beds - so we all got a good nights sleep.
This house has been rebuilt over the past 15 years by Reg who previously owned a garage in Nundroo. Had a good chat to him. Power is by diesel generator that runs (noisily) non-stop.

Fowlers Bay Jetty - 14mm lens - 10th sec shutter

Pulled up at Coorabie - another tiny town that now boasts only a small school and a few houses.

Photo taken laying on the road using the 500mm lens. That's Crispy off ahead. Had rain showers for a few 100km's.

This photo a 4-stitch. Photos taken hand-held with the 500 mm lens.
This is the 'Head-of-the-Bight' built recently to provide a lookout to the many whales that frequent the area.
My auntie was part of a select bunch of volunteers who died just over a week ago with one of the other volunteers in a tragic road accident just a few kilometers from the building.

Whale with a baby albino calf.

Swallow on the fence at the lookout.

Crispy gives his 400mm lens another workout!!

Another Pano (3 pics) taken further down the road at the bight...
AMAZING cliffs.

Taken with my 90mm Macro -at the Eucla remains of the telegraph station.

Another large load on the Eyre Highway.
Most semi's are road-trains and very few now run at night.
Highways were very quiet after 10pm. We would drive 200 km's and not see any vehicles!!!

Run up into Madura Pass.
Taken looking back standing up in the sunroof!! 500mm lens.
That's Kelly driving.

Best burger we've had in a while!!!
At Madura Pass - a DECENT Hambuger - with taste, juice running down the arms etc etc.
MacDonalds are NOT a patch on these!!!!
